Thinking about Ones Self

Respond to this quote...Live one day at a time emphasizing ethics rather than rules.

  1. That to me makes no sense. We spent years trying to make sure everybody has equal rights. That one day could change everything and ruin what many people did to make this world what it is today.
I really miss this class and being able to speak our minds. :(. This class changed me. And I'm hoping I could come back one day this week to see u and ms. Carr.

  2. Sounds good to me ! I think sometimes rules can hold us back or clash with our own moral philosophies. So to me, it's way more important to live by one's own heart than some meaningless written or spoken standard. There's a lot more freedom if you choose to live by ethics, and by golly I love freedom (:

  3. Well hmmm.... Well rules are meant to be broken. Ethics are more important than rules because we deal with people from different races and countries. When these people come to america we need to learn how to talk and function with them in our daily lives. We need to treat people with different ethics with respect. People shouldnt make fun of people from a different race or ethnics because they have feeling just like any other person.

  4. living on day at a time is all you can do. yeah you can go by rules but it doesn't mean you'll be any better off. When you live by your own morals then your doing what you want, want you like, and what makes you happy. like woj said rules are made to broken and when you do that your building up who you'll be tomorrow. live on day at a time so your mind can make decisions at that time and usually for first instinct is the best :)

hopefully ill be able to visit tomorrow!
    love you guys<3

  5. I've been reading some Lao Tsu (Buddha)and this quote comes from his teachings. Ethics are all we have. We are what are beliefs say we are. I love these comments. You guys have grown so much. My newer posts will be philosophical.

  6. I think it's saying when you should live one day at a time, it's saying if you concentrate on the past or future to much you cant see whats infront of you. Its like if your driving a car down a road and you look in the rear veiw mirror to much or you bring binoculars with you and check like half a mile down the road, you cant see the danger right infront of you, and it could kill you.
( Im still good at analogys (: )

As for Ethics rather then rules, I think Ethics are just the unwritten rules of society. Rules can be broken but theres some type of phyical retribution as for ethics theres a moral consquence.
I hope this post finds you well and healty. Hannah tells me Mr.G is still avoiding germs. Mark my words I will get that hug from you! As for Ms.Carr I see your hannah sometimes in the hallway and she looks just like you haha.

  7. I don't really know how to respond to this. But i guess sometimes in a sitituation you can't awlays follow the rules you have to think about how you truely are as a person and respond the way you think is best. I know its short, but I think I answered the question?

  8. What I get out of this quote is live your life to its fullest and don't hold back. When you live your life the way you want to new doors open and you can see the world from all different angles. When you live your life rules and restrictions don't hold you back. You know them and respect them but you do things the way you want with those rules in mind. This is a really good quote and tells you alot about how you are to live your life.
