We are heading into our last week together and this has been one of the best school years I can remember. What are some of your highlights from class this year? What should the class be like in the future?
my highlights were meeting greate kids and friends like matt p morgan c doug s shaun barber jimmy s etc and my highest high light was meeting taylor love u for futer generation u cant do better you guys rock dont change a thing you guys made this year so g aka good going to miss u $$$kc$$$ ps. trent I TACO
To be honest, I loved that assignment Mr. G and Ms. Carr gave us where we had to use 1 word and write a story, watch a video, make a collage, etc. That was a very deep and telling project. There were life stories about people I didn't know and would never have guessed. I'd change that assignment a little bit have the kids tell or show a "scene" in their life that is deep and warms anothers heart. Riches
dude, this class is the best no matter what! we have some awesome times in this class that i will never forget. the best love story ever told was amazing. even the projects are fun which is very unlikely in any other class. for example, the islands that we made. it was so funny some of them and a little drawling like that can tell a whole story about someone. also all the jokes that we have in our class. if wwe had a bad day or just dont feel like doing anything "educational" we do something fun. and most of the time we still get someting educational out of it. everyone in the class are awesome. i have so many good memories in this class and i think everyone iin this class has changed for the better. if i could i would stay in this class for like ever. we didnt just learn things you guys have to teach us, we learned true life lessons and meanings of life.
i will never, ever forget everything in this class
This was the best language arts class ever. Mr. G and Mrs.Carr don't you change a thing. I espessially liked the space ship project. I'm going to miss you guys and everyone in this class. to change anything would be bad and being in you class has taught me many valubale things such as always refer to how to wo a young lass and everything else. I'm just gona miss this class. -Alex Arnold
To me everyday was a memory. I liked the fact I meet so many cool kids this. I enjoyed getting to know Alex A alot better and kids like Trent really anyone in that was in your classes. Mr.G you need to keep macho lunch going & how to whoo young lasse.
every day was a specal day in your class you never knew what we were goin to do any day the class was always laughing at mr gs commants and having all the kids in the classes some are my friends like morgan c keven c and woj and dom and eveyone in the class was always respectful to everyone kool-jim
I loved this year! I loved everything you gave us to do. Everything you gave us had a meaning behind it. In the futuer I wouldnt change anything. I loved going to Ms.Carr's and Mr.G's class. I had a great time and I think that everyone else did too. -Cammy
I think a better question is whats not a highlight of the year. I sincerly loved the whole gosh dang year. Some of my fondest memories are when we sat in tables with 4 people and we read our journals and had intense debates. I also have great memories of Mr.G and I making fun of Ms. Carr for saying but or duty (haha duty). Heres a list of changes I would like to see: -Nothing -More Nothing -Add a Hint of Nothing -Keep everthing exactly the same
This class was one of the best classes ever just the bond of our class was great. We were a family and all the laughs and jokes were great i feel every class should be like a family! There were so many memories.
This class was so much fun and unforgetable. For everyday you have a great memory from the class. I loved it how you guys made learning fun and the things you teached us had so much meaning behind it. Also like morghan said we are a family in that class and we learned more about everybody and who they are. In the future every thing should be the same, don't change anything! I love this class and everyday is a highlight! Had so many great memories. Kim =D
This language arts class is a one-of-a-kind type of class. Instead of reading a book and writing an answer we discuss and we learn and we keep growing! If I was to say one bad thing about this class I would say nothing. There is nothing that would ever make me say something bad. I know that when I leave for next year there will be one thing I will miss and it is this language arts class! You know how we say never change who you are well never change this class. It has changed my perspective on life so much! My two favortie things that we have discussed were Nineteen Minutes and Rwanda and Darfur. ( I know that we just started it but I love knowing that I'm more aware of the terrible crimes that go around me!) The other favorite part was our JOURNALS and this BLOG! I've never been much of a journal person but ever since I started with this blog I don't want it to end! I mean we speak our minds and the great teachers like Mr. G and Mrs. Carr encourage and let US pretty much control the classroom. We have become so close that you can't not see the love that has filled the air when we are all together! I love you all and I hope that this class will be the same inspiration it has been for me! -regn :)
Kind of in the beginning of the year... (Possibly during Sarah Byrnes) I guess I had a disapproving look on my face during one of Mr. G's “speeches”, and it seemed as if he read my mind. I was thinking “Wow, that’s so untrue. How would you even know?” I was being really stubborn. Haha. I didn’t verbalize anything, though. He just turned to me and said, "We have more in common than you think." It was just a really reassuring and a memorable highlight. It meant a lot to me.
I will always be here to reassure you. You have all entered into my "family" and I'll will continue to love and protect you as long as we know each other. Everyday with you is a highlight. I cherish our days of thinking, laughter, and tears. I've learned more from all of you than you could have possibly learned from me.
Wow! Everyday I come into school looking forward to Language Arts class. This class makes us think outside th box. There are so many memories and I will always treasue them. This class is my other family. I love everyone in it and everyone has something to bring to the table. We re all so different but have much more things in common. <3checkers <3
wow its so hard to believe that the year is almost over if I had to pick out the highlights of this year in this class I think I would not be able to pick I love this class and the people in it and it I had a different la class i think it would have made me a different person. I love how we read the best books and all the projects we did. this class made me think differently about a lot of things. Everyday no matter what kind of mood I was in I looked forward to going to language arts class. There are so many great memories that i will never forget, This is the only class I think I could fully just be myself in without thinking that i would get judged. I think of this class as a second family I love everyone that is in it and we all have something in common and i love it so i just want to put out a big thank you to Mrs. Carr and Mr.G I love you guys
Wow, this one is easy. (even though I have so many great memories!) 1. the task where we had to dress up like our "cliques" 2. Mr. G talking on the phone with Obama 3. watching walle 4. the assigment where we got to choose obe word and teach the class what it ment to you 5. OUR CLASS DISCOUSSIONS <--i think i spelled that wrong 6. meeting all the differnt people in that class (I remember coming into that class the 1st day of school and being like w-o-w I have no friends in this class, but now I am so glad I got to be in this class because I met so many more people than I thought was possible!) 7. the spaceship activity 8. 19 minutes 9. trents and gerrys amazing journal writtings 10. alyssa's thoughtfulness when in class discoussions (You are such a smart, strong, and wonderful person!) 11. have people from all different backgrounds and home situations and being able to talk honestly 12. having a "family" outside of my home family 13. knowing that I can trust everyone in the class room with really personal thing and knowing that everyone will support me and never judge me I would like to say that I am going to miss every single one of you (that includes you Mr. G and Ms. Carr!) and that I truely love all of you from the bottom of my heart! Caroline
My highlights of this class was getting to know each and every one of you. I wish I was hear all year because I enjoyed this class so much. For what I was here for I don't think you should change a single thing. -Taylor
this is the best class i have ever been in. i could never ask for anything more but to keep continuing this class the way it was this year. it helped all of us out through everything. Our class has been through the fights, tears, laughter, happiness, and sadness but isnt that what a family normally does? do not change this class one bit and teach the same topics you did this year with us for the following years. i could never and will never forget this class. Being in this class means the world to me. Room 211 will never be forgotten in the class 2008-2009. Love you Ms. Carr and Mr. G. You guys are honestly the best teachers i have ever had and will ever have.
This class was definately one of my more favored classes in the school. Some peeople say we do nothing but watch movies and talk about something not related to L.A, but they are 100% wrong. This class has taught me so much and I'm not just saying that. I didn't know I could talk about some of the controversial issues that we talked about. To me, life is not about knowing how to diagram a sentence or know what a fancy word means. To me, everything that we have done in this Language Arts class IS LIFE. Thank you so much, to both of you. I really appreciate all that you have done for all of us in room 211 period 3/5. -Rachael Pittman
